| How to turn any blog that attracts only "cheap" keywords into a better cash flow

In this post I will explain how to turn any blog that attracts only "cheap" keywords into a better cash flow. In order to make my explanation easier to understand, I have illustrated it with a real life example.
A young girl had asked for my help to monetize her blog about modeling. As a college student and a part time model, she had both the passion and knowledge about the subject. As such, it wasn't difficult for her to come up with new interesting posts which made her blog very popular among young adults.
I suggested utilizing Google AdSense to monetize her blog. Because she was a busy full time student, it was very exciting for her to be able to earn some money with this, "passive income," stream.
Due to the fact that all model-related keywords and phrases were very low paid, we had to come up with a few additional subjects. Content that attracts very well paid ads and could be potentially interesting to her visitors. Topics such as student credit cards, student loans, online education, student car insurance, and others.
Key phrases that apply directly to modeling are paying the following:
how to become a model 23 cents teen modeling 16 cents teen modeling agency 15 cents
BUT! Look at what these keywords are paying:
student credit cards $3.00 student loan $4.64 online education $2.49 student car insurance $7.05
As you may have noticed, there is a vast disparity in pay-outs on keyword phrases.
I suggested building a few simple satellite blogs, based on well-paid topics, around her main modeling blog. She then created a few satellite blogs, utilizing no more than two to three pages per blog, and placed links on the main modeling blog pointing to them.
Her modeling blog receives a lot of free targeted traffic because of its popularity among young adults. She developed a warm relationship with her blog visitors by offering them FREE, valuable information. The audience has confidence in her and checks-out what she recommends.
These recommendations redirect the free targeted traffic from the main blog to the satellite blogs. Because of this, she is able to receive additional streams of income from the “expensive keywords.”
Keep in mind that she recommends only those subjects that WOULD BE INTERESTING to her visitors! That’s why it is not difficult to convince them to visit the satellite blogs.
If this young girl had decided to compete with the “big dogs” in the crowded arena of credit cards and loans, she would have never succeeded. But the trick here is that she doesn’t need to compete with them!
The young lady has a blog on a subject which is easy and enjoyable for her to write about. Then she simply redirects the traffic to the satellite blogs which attract the higher priced ads.
She recycles traffic a few times before the visitors decide to leave her community of blogs.
So, let us recap what we have learned.
1. Write a blog about a subject that you are passionate and knowledgeable about.
Do the research to be sure that you are not the only one in this world who has an interest in this subject and that your future blog will have an audience.
3. Research all keywords on the main and related topics.
4. Create your main blog. Then build a few related satellite blogs which are able to attract better paying keywords. Do not create more than five pages for the satellite blogs.
5. Spend 99% of your time posting on the main blog and 1% on the satellite blogs.
6. Make the main blog as big and interesting as possible.
7. Build traffic to your main blog, and redirect it to the satellite blogs.
With time, these seven steps could transform your little hobby blog into a steady stream of income.
Below I have another example where a main blog carries the cheap keywords and the satellite blogs carry the expensive keywords
Main Blog: senior dating 85 cents
Satellite Blogs:
senior life insurance $7.00 senior services $1.54 senior health care $2.10 senior health insurance $5.00 senior life settlement $8.99
Building blog communities around the main blog can create a business that will bring you money for many years to come.Labels: AdSense, expensive keywords, internet success secret, keywords, money for bloggers, topic popularity, traffic |

Earlier we discussed different methods of getting free content by using other people’s articles. Well, now it is time to learn how to attract free traffic to your blog by offering your own articles as free content for others.
Experienced marketers know that writing articles and submitting them to the Article Directories is one of the best ways of getting free traffic. Many blog/website owners are willing to share their traffic in exchange for your valuable content.
To illustrate this, I have included a few links pointing to my articles,
How To Fight Cultural Differences In Marriage And Stay Happy.
Click on this link to see what kind of exposure this article received during 4 years.
"Internet Addiction Anonymous" Click on this link to see what kind of exposure this article received. ( during one year)
There are hundreds of one way links.... Not bad for two articles which I submitted to approximately five articles directories.
You see, many sites have published article because it is relevant to their topic. Once your article has been published, it will be a source of free traffic for a very long time

Profit in business comes from repeat customers.nCustomers that boast about your project or service, and that bring friends with them. (- W. Edwards Deming)
Find a few forums related to your blog and take part in the discussions. It won’t be difficult since you are familiar with the subject.
Here is an excellent site listing many different forums.
It is also easy to find any forum through Google. Just type in “keywords+forum” in the search bar. Below are three examples:
Dog Lovers Forums, Golf Forums, Real Estate Forums,
Try to leave only worthwhile comments with a link pointing to your blog.
Having both a blog and a forum, allows you to manipulate your traffic easily. For example, an announcement on your forum will cause most of the forum’s visitors to return to your blog. In doing so, you will generate a constant stream of “recycled traffic.”
Discussions Groups
Write comments on Google and Yahoo discussions groups using the same techniques as described above. Find Google groups and Yahoo groups here.
MySpace.com
Lately the website MySpace.com has gained enormous popularity. Pay attention to this phenomenom. It can be one of the great sources for getting traffic to your blog. Check out the full listing of its groups here.
Join the groups that are related to your blog, develop relationships by placing quality posts, and hopefully make friends. The more friends you have, the more traffic you will be able to redirect to your blog.Labels: traffic |

Writing comes more easily if you have something to say.” (Sholem Asch)
There are many sites that list blogs for any chosen subject. For instance, Technorati is a site where you can easily find blogs with topics that are similar to yours. Type any keyword into the search window, and hundreds of the latest posts on this topic will show up. Take your time, and write a comment with a link pointing to your blog.
The comment does not have to be long, but it does have to be useful.
Unfortunately due to spam abuse, many blog owners have disabled the comment feature. Owners who allow comments have to continually spend their time scrutinizing the commentaries to insure that their blogs do not contain spam.
Respect their efforts by leaving useful non offensive commentaries, so that links pointing to your blog will not be deleted and could bring free traffic for a long time to come.

To insure that your blog ( on blogger.com) will not miss any free traffic, I recommend that you check its setting.
Go to Settings Basic Add your blog to our listings.
Set “Add your Blog to our listings” to YES. That allows a public blog to appear in your Blogger profile and in the fresh blogs list on the dashboard. In addition, turning this on also means that your blog will be crawled by search engine spiders.
Settings Publishing Send Pings Set "Send Pings” to YES, which lets the community know when new posts are available. Pings blog update notification services that many individuals and services use to track blog changes.
Settings Basic Show Email Post links
Email This Post enables your blog visitors to share your posts with their friends. This is a good idea to get additional free traffic. Set Show Email Post links to Yes
Settings Basic Title
It is important to include relevant keywords into the blog title and description. Write a title concisely, straight to the point.
Changing your blog name or description Settings Formatting Show Title Field Set Show Title Field to Yes
Blogger automatically creates a filename for your post, based on its title. Since search engines can read files name, I suggest that you include relevant keywords in the post's title, as well.
Settings Comments Activate Comments Set Comments to Show If you allow people to leave comments, they are more likely to return checking for responses, which perpetuates a continuous stream of visitors.

People love chopping wood. In this activity one immediately sees results. ~Albert Einstein
Someone once said, “Build it and they will come.” May be it is true in the offline world, but online this phrase might have a different meaning, "If you build it, will they come?"
Although your blog is created in a very interesting and entertaining way but nobody sees it, then this blog will never make any money. A blog must get traffic in order to be turned into a decent stream of income. Not ANY traffic but targeted traffic; visitors who are really interested in the blog content.
Free Traffic, and How to Get It
Getting free targeted traffic is the best thing that can happened in the world of the Internet business. Search engines like blogs that are updated often with relevant and unique content. The search engine spiders visit frequently updated blogs and index new posts quickly. Blogger software makes this process much easier by creating a search engine friendly page for each post.
Even though it is important to update your blog often, I do not recommend being a slave to it and spend hours making updates. Concentrate only on updating your main blog.
Do not build just a blog, but a blog community by having a main blog in the center and a few additional satellite blogs supporting the main blog.
Post often to the main blog, and concentrate on getting traffic to it. Do not worry about getting traffic to the satellite blogs. Just place links pointing to them from the main blog.
Of course, if you have time and wish to update all of your blogs, then do so! However, keep in mind that it is better to update your main blog daily than to update all of your blogs once a week.
