| What Oprah Can Teach You About Doing Business Online

While watching an Oprah Winfrey show about her traveling experiences, I was amazed by the discipline she demonstrated during her trip to New Mexico and other states. She did her exercise routine every day no matter what.
Depending where she and her team stayed, Oprah attended a gym, or if there was no gym near by, she would go jogging.She worked regularly on her abdominal muscles and was proud to demonstrate how flat her stomach was.
Ok, so what in the world does Oprah's exercising routine has to do with doing business online? Plenty! Oprah once mentioned that if she could buy a perfectly “in shape” body, she would've done it a long, long time ago. This woman, who created a multi million dollar empire from scratch, has no illusions about shortcuts to success whether it be in business or in other areas of her life.
Surprisingly, there are many people who think that the Internet is a magical place where anyone can become widely successful without any work. People often think that by utilizing some advanced software or by discovering a bunch of “closed door secrets,” they will become rich quickly. However, the universal truth is that the law of success for online business works the same as for any other business or areas of life.
The old fashion way includes consistency and discipline. Although it is possible to get a lucky shot at success, the point is that success has real value only when it can be repeated day after day, month after month.
It make sense for novices to spend their time learning the basics of online business, such as how to drive traffic to a website or blog by word of the mouth instead of using tricky expensive software. Also it is more effective to develop a base of loyal customer slowly, step-by-step, instead of buying faceless leads.
Learning the basics in details and developing a full understanding of what you are doing will eventually lead you to the top. Do not have the illusion that there are shortcuts to success. There are not. Even for the rich and famous. Just ask Oprah!
