Read this first: Commission Junction (C.J.)
Along with Clickbank, C.J. is a great option for the novice. It has a very easy to use affiliate program directory and, like ClickBank, has a rating system. To understand how this rating system works, log into the C.J. account. Click the “GET LINKS” hyperlink, and type in any keyword related to your blog.
In my example I typed the word ”dogs” and chose only the U.S. based companies.

As a result, ten U.S. sites related to dogs products and services showed up. View the screen shot below: at the top are the “Network Earnings,” and “3 Month EPC” links (EPC means earnings per click).

If you click the “Network Earnings” link, you will be able to see the rating of companies, based on the volume of paid commissions. The picture will change to this:

The green line represents the amount of commissions paid. The longer the line the greater the payment activity.
CJ has a few other ratings such as sale, lead rating, “7-day EPC,” and “3-month EPC” rating.
The “3-month EPC” is a very important rating to check because it shows how well an advertiser converts website visitors into buyers over a three-month period. The companies with the highest conversion rate are listed first. In this example the picture has changed to this:
